Local News: Get the Scoop
French
News: A monthly newspaper in English for fans of all things
French. Some articles are available free online.
International
Herald Tribune: This English-language, Paris-based publication
of The New York Times focuses on world news.
Paris
Kiosque: A bit erratic, this webzine is still a good place to
get an English-language take on local current events.
Paris Voice:
This chatty webzine is aimed at anglophone ex-pats living in Paris,
focusing on their particular joys and frustrations (rhapsodies about
shopping, rants about snooty in-laws). Good coverage of current art,
literary and music events.
France 2:
France’s largest public TV network. In French.
Radio
France Internationale: France’s national public radio network
offers live streaming broadcasts in English and French, as well as
English-language news articles online.
TF1: A
mix of game shows, soaps, American dramas and sports has made this one of the most popular networks in
France. Critics complain that it’s lowbrow and right wing. In French.
TSF: My husband and I got hooked on this
jazz radio station when it was playing in a hotel room. We’ve been
listening online ever since. Ads often include information on upcoming
concerts. And the playlist is way cool. Mainly in French.
Street89: English-language commentary on
major French news stories. For a wider range of articles, check out
the blog’s French-language parent,
Rue89.
France24: English-language articles and
video with the latest news from France and elsewhere. If you feel like
practicing your language skills, the site is also available in French.
